DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SECURE ONLINE FORUM FOR STAFF AND STUDENT
ABSTRACT
This project is about creating a safe online forum website for computer science students at the University of Port Harcourt. It gives students a platform to communicate with their peers and faculty. A user privileges right was implemented to improve security. The system was built in three layers: a backend database, a middle tier using Microsoft Internet information services (IIS) and java script, and a web browser as the front end client. Information will now be obtained directly and at a much faster rate. The utilization of an online forum system would be extremely beneficial in giving accurate, timely, and complete information regarding the department’s activities. With user convenience and ease of access in mind, this website’s online forum can be utilized to effectively exchange ideas and communicate with colleagues. The system was built with Microsoft Asp.net and HTML. This language was chosen due to its syntax and ease of development for internet applications.
