In particular, considerable trouble is directed at combating nonage conditions. therefore, the National Programme on Immunization( NPI), a programme of immunization against deadly transmissible conditions is mainly funded by the public government. The public government’s focus on children is accessible against the background that the children of moment are the grown-ups of hereafter and that a healthy populace is an asset to the nation. moment, utmost of these children are of primary academy age, and numerous of them indeed, have unchecked access to academy( UNICEF Nigeria, 2004). It’s the contention of health professionals, preceptors and social workers that the provision of academy health services is a cost effective way of meeting the health requirements of children( Nakajima, 1992). thus, it’s a welcome development for the Nigeria government to have made specific vittles for the picture of health services in all seminaries in the confederation, as enunciated in its policy document( Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1998).

School health services relate to the health- care delivery system that’s functional within a academy or council. The services aim at promoting and maintaining the health of academy children so as to give them a good launch in life. In addition, the services seek to enable children profit optimally from their academy literacy gests ( Okafor, 1991; Ezedum, 2003). Health appraisal is a major element of health services. Health appraisal according to Ogbuji( 2003), is that aspect of health services which concerns itself with assessing the health of an individual objectively. Health appraisal dovetails into three specific conditioning, each of which is related to the others. The conditioning are health observation( which involves physical examination of the physiology and behaviours of children), health examination( which involves webbing tests or medical judgments ), and health records( which involves the keeping of records of the health histories of the children).

Health appraisal is of benefit to academy health programme in a number of ways. First, it affords the academy authorities the occasion to descry signs and symptoms of common conditions as well as signs of emotional disturbances that could stymie the literacy conditioning of academy children. either, health appraisal helps in furnishing information to parents and academy labor force on the health status of academy children( Cornacchia, Olsen & Nickerson, 1991).

Statement Of Research Problem

There have been attempts at probing the provision of academy health services in Nigeria seminaries, with a view of catching on whether the lofty ideals that informed the setting up of the services are being realized. The status of academy health services is generally determined through an examination of the health appraisal services that are handed. This is understandably so, because appraisal or opinion precedes tradition or treatment. In their studies,( Nwana, 1982, 1988, Imoge 1987, Okafor, 1991) reported large scale scarcities in the provision of academy health services in both primary and secondary seminaries. This isn’t the case with GuyukL.G.A; some of the problem linked that may be affecting the inflexibility in the distribution of health appraisal services in this area may be as result of

1. lack of good roads

2. poor infrastructural installations and

3. high position of ignorance

Aim And objects Of Study

The main end of the exploration work is to determine the challenges of health appraisal services in some named primary academy in GuyukL.G.A. Other specific objects of the study are

1. To determine the status of health observation services handed for primary academy children in GuyukL.G.A in Adamawa state.

2. To determine the status of health examination services handed for primary academy children in GuyukL.G.A of Adamawa state.

3. To determine the status of record keeping of health histories of primary academy children in GuyukL.G.A of Adamawa state.

4. To proffer result to the over stated problems

1. What’s the status of health observation services handed for primary academy children in GuyukL.G.A in Adamawa state?

Significance Of Study

The study on the challenges of health appraisal services in some named primary academy will be of immense benefit to the entire GuyukL.G.A., the State, the civil government and other experimenters that ask to carry out analogous exploration on the below content as the findings of the study will educate the below population on health appraisal services, the challenges faced by the health center in Nigeria and the way forward. Eventually the study will contribute to the body of being literature and knowledge in this field of study and give a base for farther exploration

Compass Of Study

The study on the challenges of health appraisal services in some named primary academy is limited to three( 3) primary seminaries in GuyukL.G.A of Adamawa State.

Limitation Of Study

fiscal constraint-inadequate fund tends to stymie the effectiveness of the experimenter in sourcing for the applicable accoutrements , literature or information and in the process of data collection( internet, questionnaire and interview).

Time constraint- The experimenter will contemporaneously engage in this study with other academic work. This accordingly will cut down on the time devoted for the exploration work

Description Of Terms

Health appraisal This refers to a series of procedures to assess or determine the health status of the scholars through the use of schoolteacher’s compliances, webbing tests, health histories or medical records, medical and dental examinations and cerebral tests.
