Design Of An Effective Primary Health Care Centre

Detail Description of the structure Type

Primary Health Care( PHC) is driven by a political gospel that emphasizes a radical change in both the design and content of conventional health care services. It also advocates an approach to health care principles that allow people to admit health care that enables them to lead socially and economically productive lives( Dennil etal. 1999 2). The Alma- Ata protestation of September 1978 defined the conception of PHC as essential care grounded on practical, scientifically sound and socially respectable health care styles and technology, made widely accessible to individualities and families in the community through their full participation and at a cost that the community and country can go to maintain at every stage of their development in the spirit of tone- reliance and tone- determination. It forms an integral part both of the country’s health system, of which it’s the central function and main focus, and of the overall social and profitable development of the community. It’s the first position of contact for individualities, the family and the community within the public health system, bringing health care as close as possible to where people live and work, and constitutes health care services( WHO 1998 15). In addition, Alma- Ata protestation states that any Primary Health Care program should include at least the ensuing factors, videlicet, education about prevailing health problems and styles of precluding and controlling them; the creation of food force and proper nutrition; an acceptable force of safe water and introductory sanitation; motherly and child health care, including family planning and care of high threat groups; immunization against the major contagious conditions; forestallment and control of locally aboriginal conditions; applicable treatment of common conditions and injuries and the provision of essential medicines, including vaccines.

Primary Health Care Centre is the foundation of pastoral health services- a first harborage of call to a good croaker of the public sector in pastoral areas for the sick and those who directly report or appertained fromSub-Centres for restorative, preventative and promotive health care( India, 2002). Primary Health Care Centre is a introductory health unit to give as close to the people as possible, an intertwined restorative and preventative health care to the pastoral population with emphasis on preventative and promotive aspects of health care.

We’re in a period of major change, with further being handed at primary position rather than in hospitals.
