CHAPITER 1

INTRODUCTION

1.1 THE STUDY’S BACKGROUND

Parents must understand that one of the most priceless bequests they can leave their children is a thorough and useful education. One of the things you can leave them is this. As a result, parents must show more concern for their children’s growth and development. Parents should ensure that their children receive the correct upbringing and are morally upright. In order for your children to have a good start in life, you must give them a firm educational foundation, a strong emotional foundation, and lots of love. Parents should be assisted in creating wholesome routines and encouraged to do so. They should put in a lot of effort, follow the current fashions, exhibit tolerance, and be eager to lend a hand to others (Penn, 2022).

Without parental support, the majority of young people won’t be able to measure their achievement or make plans for their future development. As a result, parents should participate in the selection of the vacant oil for their children. To ensure that their children mature into responsible members of society, they must keep contact with the school.

Given should bear in mind that men in today’s society prefer men who can have productive employment and who can contribute to the family’s financial status rather than many women who are a burden on the family.

The importance of education in the growth process has been highlighted, in part because it opens doors for the development of human potential, which leads to a more fulfilling existence (Anyanwu, 2022).

One cannot emphasize enough how important careful planning is for one’s life. A priest who lacks a life plan is like a ship without a rudder that is drifting aimlessly.

There is no doubt that you will find the motivation to plan for your life that you once had if you put some of the sage advice from our forefathers into reality. I want to draw your attention to a phrase that you frequently hear on the radio. The guidance provided to us by the more experienced members of society is priceless. Obtain success by rising at five in the morning. Once everything is done, you can sleep in till seven in the morning.

1.2 THE STATEMENT’S STATEMENT

Findings from surveys carried out across Nigeria suggest that having a large family may be detrimental to someone’s overall development. According to Brockingtan’s (2022), when the size of the family increases, the starting diet for the entire family decreases. As a result, we made the decision to carry out this research to examine the many influences that people’s degree of education and knowledge about family size have on their impression of what makes for a suitable family size.

i. To ascertain whether education contributes to keeping a manageably small family size.

ii. To ascertain whether information contributes to keeping a manageable family size.

iii. To investigate the factors that affect family size.

1.4 QUESTIONS FOR RESEARCH

i. Does schooling have anything to do with preserving a manageably limited family size?

ii. Does knowledge contribute to preserving a manageably limited family size?

What factors determine the size of a family?

1.5 RELATIONSHIP TO OTHER STUDIES

It is intended that this study would educate adults about the importance of giving an acceptable family size their full attention. Additionally, this work will be used as a resource by academics in the field of education. Additionally, it is intended that their research will inform academics and broaden their understanding of the issue.

This study will also educate people in general about the need of giving children the frequent attention they require, rather than just paying for their education.

1.6 THE STUDY’S SCOPE

In this study, the necessity of keeping a manageably small family size is examined in relation to the influence of education and information. This study specifically focuses on investigating the drivers of family size, establishing whether education has a role to play in keeping a reasonably small family size, and finding whether information has a role to play in maintaining a reasonably small family size.

Limitations of the study: 1.7

While doing the study, the researcher ran into some minor obstacles, just as in every human endeavor. Due to a lack of resources, the researcher was only able to choose from a small number of sample sizes while looking for pertinent materials, literature, or information, as well as when collecting data. Even more so, the researcher worked on this study and other scholarly projects at the same time. The time needed for study will be cut down as a result.

The investigator faced additional difficulties as a result of the case study method used in the study, such as the potential for biases and poor issue judgment. To overcome these obstacles, the investigator turned to respect for the fundamental rules of procedure, justice, and fairness as well as impartiality in observation and recording.
