The Influence Of Alcohol Abuse On Health Behavior Of Youth And Older Adult

 

Abstract

 

Alcohol consumption among different ethnical groups in Nigeria has a long history, especially among those groups where it wasn’t interdicted by religion. In the traditional period, alcohol played complex places in the socio-artistic connections of different communities. It was used for rituals, marriage observances, chieftaincy enthronements, etc. It was substantially consumed by manly grown-ups for pleasure while ladies and youths were culturally restrained from drinking. redundant consumption wasn’t a norm and intoxication attracted negative warrants. In the contemporary Nigerian society, patterns of consumption are changing fleetly following the socio- political and profitable development of Nigeria, giving rise to new morals of alcohol use. This review examines the impact of alcohol consumption on health geste of youths and the changing patterns of alcohol consumption. It concludes by exploring the consequences of these goods of alcohol consumption on the health geste of youths and suggests some remedies for contemporary Nigerian society.
