Abstract

This study was carried out on the part of Fulani radio in resolving herders growers ’ extremity in Nigeria using Koode Radio International, Abuja as a case study. To achieve this, thee significant exploration objects were formulated. The check design was espoused and the simple arbitrary slice ways were employed in this study. The population size comprises of presenters staff of Koode Radio International, Abuja. In determining the sample size, the experimenter accessibly named 33 repliers while 30 were entered and validated. tone- constructed and validated questionnaire was used for data collection. The result of the findings reveals that Fulani Radio isn’t effective in resolving growers- herdsmen ’ heads in Nigeria. The findings also revealed that Fulani Radio have no positive impact on Farmers Herdsmen heads. In regard to the findings, the study recommends that hard to reach areas can profit from programmes of community radio broadcasting. Hence, agencies and applicable stakeholders should insure that broadcast programs designed for and targeted at pastoral communities get to these target cult; and Radio media interpreters should consider public interest by being veracious and factual as well as avoid instigative or vicious language.

Background Of The Study

Radio is a form of technology for signaling or communicating using radio swells. Fayeye( 2011). Radio swells correspond of electromagnetic swells of frequence between 30 hertz( Hz) and 300 gigahertz( GHz). These swells are produced by a transmitter which is an electronic device connected to an antenna which radiates the swells, and entered by a radio receiver connected to another antenna. Radio has a wide content in ultramodern technology, used in radio communication and other operations( Dendo, 2003). The relinquishment of the use of radio for the mitigation and eradication of the extremity between the Fulani herds ’ men and growers was approved by the government of Nigeria on May 21 2019. According to the minister, the radio service will serve as a means for social rallying, provision of interactive radio instruction and education aimed at proffering lasting result to the extremity between herdsmen and growers which has led to the loss of numerous lives, destruction of productive means and the improvement of vagrant education, and literacy coffers( Eniola 2007). The license was granted to the National Commission for Nomadic Education for the establishment of a radio station. The study seeks to estimate the part of Fulani radio in resolving herders growers ’ extremity in Nigeria.

Statement of the Problem

The extremity between Fulani herders and growers has constituted another challenge in recent times due to growing failure of pastoralist land and water sources. Accordingly, herders have been on the path of survival by intruding into spreads in a bit to give ranges for their cattles and cows( Ahiauzu, 2005). This violation of spreads has redounded in raising position of conflict between herders and growers in Nigeria. This violence has led to the loss of numerous lives and parcels. thus, the relinquishment of a radio channel is viewed as a measure to give information and education which grease the eradication of the imminence in Nigeria( Solagberu 2012). thus, the problem defying the study is to estimate the part of Fulani radio in resolving herders growers ’ extremity in Nigeria.
