Antibacterial Effect Of Neem Tree (Azadirachtaindica) Leaf Exract On Staphylococcus Aureus

Abstact

The main focus of this study was to determine the antibacterial effect of Neem tree( Azadirachtaindica) splint excerpt on Staphylococcus aureus. The Neem tree splint excerpt was tested in terms of the different situations of attention with( a) 25 attention,( b) 50 attention,( c) 75 attention,( d) 100 attention on Staphylococcus aureus. It specifically compared the significant differences of the different situations of attention ofNeem tree splint excerpt, and also compared to the positive control. The factory accoutrements were collected and brought to the West Visayas State University Biological Science Laboratory where the trial was conducted.

fully Randomized Design( CRD) was the exploration design used in the study. The interpretation of the results was grounded on the Claustroet.al zone of inhibition scale. The statistical analysis( One- way ANOVA) wasn’t employed due to the reason that the zone of inhibition is zero.

Results of the study revealed that there was no significant differences on the effect of the different situations of Neem tree( Azadirachtaindica) splint excerpt on Staphylococcus aureus.

Chapter One

Preface Of The Study

Background of the Study

Philippines is a country that has plenitude of coffers and biodiversity. shops in different species just sow and growanywhere.Vegetations remain to be the most important part of mortal actuality.

Medicinal substances deduced from different shops around us have come the most sought sources of drugs. still, a considerable number of people in our generation still don’t fete the value and significance of medicinal shops. numerous people continue to calculate on synthetic medicines for treatment of common ails despite their being precious.

principally, the experimenters had initiated a study that may give applicable answers to some common health problems endured by mortal beings.

currently, skin problems also gain presto and are inversely disturbing just like any other diseasesaffecting our communities. This is the primary reason why experimenters conceptualized this study to determine theanti-bacterial factors of Neem( Azadirachtaindica) leaves excerpt and its possible goods against Staphylococcus aureus, the bacteria that concerns utmost of the common skin problems.

Neem is a tropical tree that has been declarednon-toxic to humans. former studies revealed that it containsanti-bacterial parcels and high- content ofanti-oxidant called polyphenols. Neem tree excerpts has an endodonticanti-microbial agent, an volition to constantly employed Sodium Hypochlorite and Chlorhexide; both to inhibit the growth of endodontic pathogens.

Sodium Hypochlorite is now used in endodontic during root conduit treatments. It’s the cure of choice due to its efficacity against pathogenic organisms and pulp digestion. Chlorexide is a chemical antiseptic. It’s effective on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Staphylococcus aureus is facultative anaerobic Gram- positve coccus, and is the common cause of staph infections. It’s constantly part of skin foliage set up in the nose and the skin. About 20 of mortal population are long – term carriers of Staphylococcus aureus can beget a range of illness from skin infection, similar as pustules, impetigo, cellulitis follicutis, to life hanging conditions similar as pneumonia, meningitis, osteomyelitis, bacteremia and sepsis. It’s still one of the five most common causes of nosocomial infections, frequently causingpost-surgical injuries infection.

This study substantially aimed at chancing out the antibacterial effect of Neem( Azadirachtaindica) tree splint- excerpt on Staphylococcus aureus. Further, it also aimed to find out whether Neem tree splint excerpt has significant effect in terms of different situations of attention, videlicet( a) 25 attention( b) 50 attention( c) 75 attention( d) 100 attention on inhibition Staphylococcus aureus.

Due to the high cost of drugs, changeable rainfall conditions that brought certain conditions specifically skin conditions, the nonstop uplifting of herbal drugs and cornucopia force of neem tree were the reason why the experimenter conducted this study.

Statement of the Problem

This study aimed to determine the antibacterial effect of Neem( Azadirachtaindica) leaves excerpt against Staphylococcus aureus.

It specifically

Determine the significant difference among the different situations of attention;( a) 25,( 2) 50,( 3) 75,( d) 100 of Neem tree leaves excerpt on Staphylococcus aureus as indicated by its zone of inhibition.

Determine what sample treatment showed the widest zone of inhibition and the lowest zone of inhibition.

Compared the effect of different situations of attention of Neem( Azadirachtaindica) leaves excerpt on the zone of inhibition of Staphylococcus aureus to the control set- up.

It was thus hypothecated that

There’s no significant difference between the situations of attention( a) 25,( b) 50,( c) 75,( d) 100 of Neem leaves excerpt on Staphylococcus aureus as indicated by its zone of inhibition.

Significance of the Study

Theanti-bacterial effect of Neem( Azadirachtaindica) leaves excerpt against Staphylococcus aureus, will be a great help in discovering a herbal drug.

More specifically, it’s salutary on the following environment

Community- they can gain a cheaper drug using a herbal factory within their place and they can resort to the Neem Tree.

Filipino people- herbal drug can be go by nearly all of us due to its cornucopia in the community.

Department ofAgriculture- they will profit on the ideas and knowledge that Neem tree can be used as ananti-bacterial drug.

Department of Health – ideas and data can be presented about the Neem tree that can be used as a drug.

Pharmaceutical companies- a cheaper drug will be vended and they would gain on it and they would take the idea for herbal drug.

scholars- they could gain ideas about shops and can be used as a drug and they can conduct farther studies and experimenters in relation to this study.

Experimenters- fellow experimenters can get ideas and information about the uses of Neem tree especially in inhabiting bacterial growth. They can also study on the shops that’s abundant in their place.

compass and Limitations

This study was conducted to determine theanti-bacterial capacity of Neem( Azadirachtaindica) splint excerpt on staphylococcus aureus in different attention 25, 50, 75, and 100 as indicated by its zone of inhibition. It also aimed to determine which attention has a significant effect.

Experimental system was used in this study. The independent variables were the different situations of attention of Neem tree splint excerpt and dependent variable was the zone of inhibition displayed on the culturedStaphylococcus aureus. This study is limited on the bacterial samples of Staphylococcus aureus.

fully Randomized Design( CRD) wasused. The medication of the excerpt, culture of bacteria and trial was conducted at West Visayas State University Biological Science Laboratory, July 2011.

Description of Terms

Antibiotics- a remedy that was used in the study videlicet the Cloxacillin.

Bacterial culture – it’s a process that the experimenters did in cultivating the bacterial sample

Cloxacillin – an antibiotic intended to treat bacterial infections was used as the positive control set- up.

birth – the process by which the juice is separated from other residue of the leaves. The tea excerpt was used to treat the Staphylococcus aureus.

Neem leaves- the part of the neem tree that was uprooted and was used in the study in different situations of concertration.

Neem tree – the neem( Azadirachtaindica) tree splint excerpt was used in treating Staphylococcus aureus.

Nutrient agar – was used as bacterial medium for bacterial culture.

Petri dish – a vessel where the nutrient agar was placed and dressed.

Phytochemical Analysis – a data in which we attained the information about the content of the variables used similar as Thylanoids, Enzymes, Alkaloids, Tannins and Saponins.

Staphylococcus aureus – the bacteria that was treated in the study.

Zone of inhibition- used term for the region inhibited by our antibacterial agent( Neem).
