Chapter One

Preface

Background of the study

Health is seen as one of the most important services handed by the government and a significant proportion of the nation’s wealth is generally devoted to health particularly in developed countries. Worldwide there has been growing public concern regarding the ethical conduct of healthcare professionals. This is frequently manifested in complains about the poor ethical conduct of healthcare providers and the adding use of action against healthcare interpreters in recent times(( Diyoke, 2015). also the issue of acceptable access to healthcare services is a policy concern. This is especially true for those living in pastoral areas of developing countries, which feel to have limited access to healthcare services. Also, access to healthcare varies across countries, groups, and individualities, and largely told by political, artistic, social, and institutional factors, Demographic and socioeconomic makeup. William and Torrens( 2008) maintains that a country’s health services system isn’t just the result of that country’s social, political, and profitable history, but also a reflection of that country’s values, culture, and participated beliefs about it. Again the delivery of ultramodern healthcare depends on groups of trained professionals and paraprofessionals coming together as an interdisciplinary brigades this includes professionals in drug, psychology, activity, nursing, dentistry, midwifery and confederated health, plus numerous others similar as public health interpreters, community health workers and assistive labor force, who totally give particular and population- grounded preventative, restorative and rehabilitative care services( Wikipedia, recaptured, June, 24th 2018). The recrimination is that encyclopedically Health care providers are facing challenges in balancing issues around ethics, profitable effectiveness, and access while organizing for and delivering services According to Nigeria Global Health Initiative Strategy( 2011), Nigeria has one of the worst health pointers in the world anyhow of being an oil painting rich country.

As the table 1 below can show, life expectation at birth from 2009- 2012 have ranged from 53- 55 times, the probability of dying between 15- 60 times for both manly and womanish ranged between371/346 per 1000 population( WHO African Region Nigeria, 2014). It can also be grounded on numerous factors(e.g. leadership, health delivery

services, just to name a many), which is primarily why am working on assessing the state of health care mortal coffers in Nigeria.

According toGeography.about.com( 2013a), the rate of birth is estimated to be about 56 births per 1000 populations, and the death rate is estimated to about 22 deaths per 1000 populations. Nigeria has a high frequence of HIV infections which has an estimated frequence rate of about3.2( adult population 15- 49 times); number of people living with HIV is estimated to be3.6 million populations. Deaths due to

AIDS has been estimated to about 260,000 people( UNAIDS, 2013). Some of other most frequent health problems in Nigeria are malaria, high blood pressure, water and food- borne conditions among others(Geography.about.com, 2013b).

The health sector of Nigeria is going through a extremity in the area of mortal coffers for health, with unstable distribution of health workers that are available and lack of introductory training for the remaining bones . No country can thrive in the health sector without a competent health pool. In the developed countries, there are acceptable and competent health workers with sophisticated technologies which make their work readily. The work terrain is also conducive enough for them and government makes acceptable programs to make sure they warrant nothing.

Emphasis will be grounded on the impact of unskillful- ism of medical interpreters in handling sick case in Nigerian hospitals. and why private agencies ca n’t do enough to help ameliorate the current health situation in the country.

Assessing the health care system in Nigeria especially the health pool will be helpful in determining how far the government and other health professional bodies have gone in perfecting the health status of Nigerians and how it can be better bettered.

fiscal constraint is ineluctable considering the present profitable situations. Due to lack of finance at the experimenters disposal to get accoutrements and in printing of questionnaires. it wasn’t possible to visit some of the police stations and some of the victims of corruption.

In developing countries like Nigeria, there’s the problem of inadequate data.
