Comparative Assessment Of Factors Affecting Cost Of Industrialized Building And Conventional Building System In Nigeria

Abstract

 

 

The main end of this exploration work is to compare the factors affecting cost of industrialized structure and conventional structure system in Nigeria. The exploration system used in collecting data was through the use of questionnaire administered to construction professionals in Nigerian construction assiduity. Seventy questionnaires were administered and fifty five were returned with response rate of 73. The instrument used in assaying data collected was relative significance indicator( RI!) to rank the factors affecting the two systems in Nigeria. From the analysis it was discovered that the major factors affecting cost of industrialized structure and conventional structure system in Nigeria were unstable government policy, shy manufacturing installations, high cost of outflow, vacuity of moxie, compass of work, suitable construction terrain, bureaucracy, accoutrements waste, high cost of construction, vacuity of land with relative significance indicator of0.82,0.8,0.79,0.78,0.77,0.76 independently. It was recommended that government should help in reducing the cost of structure factors, accoutrements , shops and outfit and they should also set an illustration of patronizing the industrialized structure system just as conventional structure system and they shouldn’t be too strict in policy timber. In conclusion the major factors affecting cost of industrialized structure and conventional structure system in Nigeria were unstable government policy, shy manufacturing installations, high cost of outflow, vacuity of moxie, compass of work, suitable construction terrain, high cost of construction, vacuity of land independently.

This study also addresses the structure cost comparison, further advantages and effective in between the two systems. similar provides the details erecting cost indicates which of the two are cheaper.
