summations are veritably important element in construction work. They reduce shrinking, give body to concrete and effect frugality.( Shetty, 2005). In road construction, summations are combined with asphalt binding medium to form a emulsion material. It can also be use with a stabilizer or by tone for base andsub-base courses.

summations are used in nearly all construction works like

1. Road bases andsub-bases

2. Asphalt concrete

3. Asphalt face

4. Portland cement concrete

5. Rails and ballasts

6. fosse backfill

7. water filtration beds

8. Rip rap and gabion accoutrements

summations were before considered as a chemically inert material but now it has been set up out that some of the summations are chemically active and also that some aggregate exhibition chemical bonds at the interface of total and cement paste.

The study of summations( their types, parcels and test) is of great important to the Civil Engineering.

This study is to ascertain the different parcels of summations used in construction workshop. This process of testing provides or establishes a common base for comparison of summations from different sources and to cloverleaf ideas between different locales.

In this design work, we will be looking at different parcels of coarse summations from different sources.

Case study include

– Abakaliki

– Lokpanta

– Otanmiri River

The locales are each in South- Eastern part of Nigeria.

 

Compass Of The Study

This design work is limited to the disquisition of the parcels of coarse total from different sources, including. Otanmiri River, Lokpanta chase point and Abakaliki chase point. All in South Eastern part of Nigeria.

 

Significance Of The Study

This design will be of great significance to construction enterprises that make use of total.

Secondly, this work will be applicable and important to all scholars in the field of civil engineering who wish to expand their knowledge about coarse summations.

 

Ideal Of The Study

1. To determine the parcels of coarse total. Sample collected from different locales. Abakaliki, Lokpanta and Otanmiri, all in south east part of Nigeria.

2. To compare the parcels of these summations from different sources.

3. To determine the strength of total from different source and compare.

 

Limitations Of The Study

During the course of this study, some constraints and limitations were encountered; the first limitation is that of sourcing for the material demanded to carry on with the design work.

The alternate limitation is that of time. The time allocated for this design is short considering the practical involved.

The last limitation of this work is the vacuity of standard testing outfit, this limitation is the major limitation in this design and it led to the detention of the work as we reference for the accoutrements needed for the practical.
