DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A CERTIFICATE VERIFICATION SYSTEM

Abstract

Given the difficulties involved in doing this manually, the certificate verification system was created to computerize the process of adding certificates and verifying the certificates records. To gather the necessary information, the system was investigated, and pertinent officials were questioned. This system’s design makes it simple to retrieve accurate information for effective and efficient allocations. It saves time and reduces operation costs while also making information maintenance simple. The system is interactive, menu-driven, and user-friendly because it was created in HTML, CSS, and PHP. It offers pertinent data on certificates at the right time. The majority of certificate operations are recorded, stored, and retrievable at any time from the computer. Because the user must log in before any certificates are added or printed, security is ensured.

CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

This chapter provides an overview of the system’s purpose, goals, historical context, and operational environment.

THE STUDY’S HISTORY

An application that is typically small or medium in size is the certificate verification system. The management of the school uses a computerized system to create and manage the student certificates number. This system allows the school to create certificates for students, print certificates for students, and—most critically—verify any student’s certificate. The verification of any certificate won’t be difficult or stressful with the help of this computerized system. The user can create and maintain all of the student certificates if they are the registrar. The Registrar can manage all the student certificates with the aid of these modules.

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

This chapter discusses the project’s goals and objectives that will be reached once it is finished. The following are the goals and objectives:

to fix the problem with manual certificate verification.
to offer a login page so the registrar can register students and create certificates for them.
to make it possible for the registrar to create unique certificate codes automatically for each certificate added.
to make it simple for students and employers to verify the legitimacy of any certificate.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM

There have been instances where employers have spent a significant amount of money to confirm the authenticity of a certificate that was presented to them during job interviews due to the problems discovered during the verification of a student certificate.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

There have been instances where employers have spent a significant amount of money to confirm the authenticity of a certificate that was presented to them during job interviews due to the problems discovered during the verification of a student certificate.

The problem is made worse by their ineffective certificate record-keeping procedures.
