Abstract

This study delved gender and position as factors impacting assertive geste among adolescents. 92 actors comprising of 48 males and 46 ladies between the periods of 16- 19 times with a mean age of17.42 and standard divagation of17.42 were tried . Rathus Assertive Schedule( RAS) was used for data collection. 2 x 2 factorial design was espoused and 2 x 2 F- test was employed to dissect the data. The findings revealed that gender and position don’t significantly determine assertive geste among adolescents( F( 1,88)) = 1.76 and F( 1,88) = 0.01 at P<.05 position of significance. Results were bandied and recommendations made.

still, it’s a well known fact that the terrain where we live has a great influence on our geste . Environment which frequently are being appertained to as position, culture denote one meaning. Hence, the end of this study is to probe and determine which of these two factor gender or position actually portrays fierceness. Since, we all are made of different natural, social, religious and artistic characteristics. It’s imperative to know that being assertive or unassertive which numerous studies have shown to beget different healthy and unhealthy geste can be as result of the individual gender or the position or culture where he or she’s coming from.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether gender will determine assertive geste among adolescents and also to examine whether position will determine assertive geste among adolescents.

Functional Description Of Terms

Gender This refers to the artistic and social characteristics that distinguish woman from men in the society.

position This refers to the external girding within which an organism( human) lives, or external factor that affect the organism development of geste . This can also be defined into civic and pastoral position.

Civic position These are people who have abided in the megacity from birth or 6 times after birth.

pastoral position These are people who are born and brought up in the pastoral area of vill.

Adolescents These are group of existent who are between the periods of 13- 19 times, appertained to as the teen times.

Assertive geste This is expressing particular right and passions in such a way that the rights of others aren’t violated.
