Identifying Approach And Methodology For The Continued Progress Of Library Studies And Information Management

 

Abstract

 

In this study the pen looked at relating approaches and methodology for the uninterrupted progress of library studies and information operation in the academy of library and information wisdom, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. The ideal of the study was to identify the necessary chops, approach, methodology and walls to acquiring chops necessary for the uninterrupted progress of library studies and information operation. Four exploration Questions guided the study and Descriptive check was used as the exploration design. The population of the study consists of 185 library and information wisdom undergraduates. Also, a total number of 100 LIS undergraduates were named as a sample for the study using intentional and stratified arbitrary slice fashion. Questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. In addition, the donation of data was arranged around the questionnaire particulars which were designed from the exploration objects supposed for the study. The data was anatomized using the simple mean system. Findings from the study revealed that the necessary chops demanded for the uninterrupted progress of library wisdom and information operation includes Marketing and tutoring chops, Leadership and Human Resource Management chops, Communication chops, IT Affiliated chops, assessing and Reporting Chops. In addition, the study further revealed that the approach and methodology that could be used to acquire these chops were; adding pupil centered educational openings, developing generalities girding information technologies, conforming classes to reflect further different professions, and helping scholars to develop new models and chops for engagements among others. walls similar as the fact that the present classes only prepare scholars for traditional library system, and the fact that core ICT courses are offered as optional. Strategies similar as, revamping of present classes that was compartmented among others was given as a means of prostrating these walls.
