Planning For Ex-landfill Redevelopment.

 

Abstract

 

Malaysia, a fast growing developing country is now facing the issue of shy civic spaces for futuredevelopment, which leads to the need to redevelop the brownfield, particularlyex-landfills. A aggregate of 296ex- tips have been planned to suffer redevelopment by the time 2020. Although there’s a policy forex- tip development, a question arises if the policy reflects the requirements of the society as the end- philanthropist thatdetermines the success of the planned development.

thus, this study was carried out to assess what thecommunity has in mind as a way to identify the community needs in icing the success of the futuredevelopment ofex-landfill. Grounded on the objects to identify the comprehensions of the community on( i)ex-landfill issues,( ii) the applicable type ofre-development for theex-landfills, and( iii) the function of thepublic demesne inex-landfills, which have been the main precedence of the development type considered by thegovernment, this study produced a precedence ranking result that could help the civic director or specificallythe Original Authorities in Malaysia to plan an effective and an respectable development of theex-landfill for thebenefits of current and unborn communities.
