Abstract

 

gestation duration and choice of care for motherly health are pivotal primary health issues that the World Health Organization( WHO) keeps constant in the crusade for all round healthcare delivery for mama and child. To be sure, there’s agreement on the need for optimal care for the mama and baby; this is believed to enhance the mama and child social development and natural growth and to reduce motherly and infant mortality and morbidity which are current in Nigeria and otherSub-Saharan Africa countries. The study therefore, investigates challenges being faced by the maters , which are eventually inconsistent to their socio- profitable hobbies, growth and motherly well being. Other objects include understanding of inhibitions and determinants to pregnant healthcare consumptions donation in terms of culture, income, occupation etc. Methodologically, sample size of 152 repliers was named for interview through purposeful arbitrary slice among the pregnant and nursing maters between the age of 15 to 49 times in Ijebu- Yoruba south western Nigeria involving mixed civic( i.e. informal and informal sectors) and the pastoral societies. The styles of data collection were check system and in- depth( IDI) interviews. 10 in- depth interviews for maters , fathers, health givers and opinions leaders were conducted. The data were anatomized through simple statistical system and content analysis for IDI. Data revealed strong significant but inverse relationship between the socio-artistic factors and choice of health care also incongruous relationship between the pregnant woman and nursing mama ‘s hearthstone and healthcare consumption. The results amongst other effects saw culture of primogenitor, income, occupation and where one live acting as determinants for when commences care and the choice of healthcare centre. The ethnographic result also verified this important that men are the key to their women choice of care during gestation this is because maturity of them still pay the medical bill. It’s thus suggested that government, transnational agencies and concerned nongovernmental association( NGOs) should consolidate trouble to open up pastoral and mixed civic agreements to Human Development Amenities( HDA) and bring about a strong intervention to bring about acceptable motherly healthcare delivery.
