Abstract

 

This study looked at Covid-19’s origins and impact on Nigerian schooling. The goals of this study were to examine the causes and effects of the COVID-19 virus on the Nigerian educational system, to ascertain the connection between the COVID-19 virus pandemic and education in Nigeria, to assess student awareness of the COVID-19 virus, and to assess the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Nigerian educational system. The study used a descriptive and explanatory design, and in order to gather data, questionnaires and library research were both used. Data was collected from both primary and secondary sources, and it was then analyzed using the chi square statistical technique at a 5% level of significance. The results were presented as frequency tables and percentages. 100 citizens of Lagos state in Nigeria served as the study’s respondents. The Covid-19 epidemic had a huge impact on Nigerian education, according to the study’s conclusions. Schools need resources to make up for the learning that was lost as a result of the pandemic.
