The Nigeria Economy has been regarded as one of the fastest growing in Africa, and potentially the biggest in the mainland, if completely explored. The donation of other sectors of the assiduity can not be overemphasized, as the addition of the Private Media Houses can not be undervalued.

In the late 50s to 70ss, media outfits are controlled and possessed by the government in power, with little donation and addition of the private existent.

The late business Napoleon, Moshood Abiola, who owns the now defunct Concord Newspaper in the 70s, Tribune Newspaper, innovated by the late Chief ObafemI Awolowo in the 60s. Their commencement only told the frugality of the country in a positive direction; with job creation, the population in the labour request would only reduced.

Statement of the Problem

In a popular setting the mass media are regarded as the watchdog of the government, the mass are generally mustered and informed to produce mindfulness on the political, religious educational and frugality situation of the country.

In addition to this, the media also impact the frugality of the country with their presence or absence; in the positive with the former and negative way in case of the ultimate.

The media influences the frugality by the creation of job occasion for eligible citizens of the country, and the direct influence it has on the Nigeria frugality, by reducing the population in the labor request, is an appluadable fit by the Media.

Ideal of the Study

The position of the frugality growth in Nigeria is on the computation progression as opinioned by the late general director of The guardian review, Chief Alex Ibru *( 2005), he stated that “ there is need for the creation of further private media houses in the country ” He said further that, the creation of private media houses will only ameliorate the frugality, than abusing the freedom of power as the fear may be.

The purpose of this study is to identify the ways in which the private media associations told the frugality of Nigeria; also to bandy the ways in which to keep the trend going, seeing the emergence of further private media outfits in the country. Political playing ground, for both the government possessed and private possessed media outfit.

It’s anticipated that this study would be of immerse benefits to the government, the millions, the media houses and the country at large.

This study will punctuate the significance of the mass media as a driving force to the development of Nigeria frugality, especially in the transitional period.

Through the private media power, especially the radio and TV, Nigeria could have the chance of a feasible political culture, which helps to choose a leadership that will put in place feasible and sustainable frugality and republic.

As correctly put by Goren Herero-Private media can produce a political climate change by including new values, stations and models or actions favorable to the rallying of effective good frugality.

Exploration Questions

The introductory exploration questions posed as a result of this problem include the entourages;

Have the media been sharing in the moving forward of the Nigeria frugality?

Has the government assured a fair political playing ground for both the government possessed and private possessed media outfits?

Can the millions in the country be mustered an informed using the mass media?

What part as the mass media played to insure a sustainable frugality?

What can be done to ameliorate the part of media in the development of the Nigeria frugality?

Compass of the Study

Since the frugality of Nigeria is been driven by crude oil painting, and donation from other sectors like agrarian products are minimum, this study is to examine the implicit benefactions which the media, especially the private media could be to the frugality of Nigeria. It’ll also examine the direct influence on the labor force in Nigeria at large. Since there’s multitudinous private media association in Nigeria; our compass will be to take leading private associations( African Independent Television AIT) as our compass of study, thus generalizing the ideas.

Limitation of the Study

Due to incapability to pierce all the available private media associations, our study will be limited to the Africa Independent Television( AIT), as our case study. The result could be generalized, as AIT is one of the leading Private media houses in Nigeria.

literal Background of Africa Independent Television( AIT)

According to the famed intelligencer Momuoh Kubanji( 2010), he gave a full account of the history of the Africa Independent Television via internet(www.ait.org). He clarified the places played by the media houses during thepre-democratic andpost-democratic period of Nigeria; he described the part as massive.

The Africa Independent Television which is a attachment of DAAR dispatches was borne out of visage cum- humanist vision of the author, Chief Aleogho A Dokpesi, who holds a doctorate degree in Marine transport engineering, from the University of Gdanski, Poland. The vision of the author is to fleetly integrate the Africa mainland with the rest of the world, to encourage development in Africa by attracting investors from each over the world through dispatches. His desire was to bridge the sleeping gap in the world’s information order, which constantly places Africa and third world countries at the mercy of the western perspectives opinions and nuances.

Though DAAR dispatches is a private Independent communication outfit grounded in Lagos, Nigeria’s former civil capital and the frugality whim-whams center of the west Africasub-region. DAAR dispatches was in commercial on August 1998. It boast of successful background in the nearly affiliated fields of printing and publishing. DAAR launched its broadcast services in 1994 with the creation of Nigeria’s first private radio station “ Raypower ”100.5 fm. The alternate Raypower channel106.5 fm commenced operation officially in April 1999, before also, DAAR dispatches had launched a 24hours global TV services.

Africa Independent Television( AIT) has the gospel that use geared towards the creation of Africa values and traditions of the black people across the world.

In the last quarter of 1999, DAAR dispatches launched into the information super high swells with the inception of DAAR broadband internet services with the capacity for tab, internet access, videotape conferencing, data, telephony, and othermulti-media capabilities. DAAR inter services complete the circles of DAAR dispatches.

In donation to the frugality of the Nigeria, DAAR dispatches limited with a staff of about 600 people in Nigeria, with a capital base of3.5 billion naira could only be a prove to there positive impact on the Nigeria frugality.

In line with the global trend of spurt information age which has achieved a confluence of broadcasting and telecommunications, DAAR dispatches has completely installed and integrated its transnational satellite gateway system able of handling voice, data and videotape telecommunications to nearly every country in the world.

As a leading communication in Nigeria, it’s only ideal to have be chosen AIT as a case study in this exploration. The effect of the over six hundred workers employed and the capital base of3.5 billion naira, which the stock brokers have described as one which would run into billions of naira in five times read. The positive donation on the Nigeria frugality could only be saluted.
