Problems and prospects of pupil hostile Accommodation problem in IMT, is the content of this write- up. The establishment of the institute of operation and technology( IMT) Enugu, there was a council of technology up till 1967, also in actuality at also were the institute of administration and the collaborative council. Unfortunately, none of this institution was suitable to meet up to the standard of an normal advanced institution of literacy of course; utmost of their courses were limited to civil retainers. Not only that, they can not award instrument beyond ordinary position parchment( OND).

In an attempt to remedy this and advance the course being offered by the forenamed institution and maybe put them into respectable standard the Ukpani Asika administration on list April 1972, intermingled the former council of technology with the council of administration.

nonetheless, the admixture of the two- family academy couldn’t meet up with both the state and public requirements. Administration set October, 1972, the East central state administration set up a provisional council to determine structure of the government, the applicable structure of an independent institution that would produce high quality technologist and technicians, professional directorial force in certain subject areas that will agree with the state and public requirements.

Accordingly, on 3ist may 1973, the edict no of 1973, named ” the institution of operation technology Edict ” was announced. The Edit come functional from Ist July, 1973 and therefore gave birth to what’s now known as the institute of operation and technology( IMT) Enugu.

A hotel by description is a structure in which cheap food and lodging is handed for scholars, but unfortunately in tertiary institution in Nigeria. The noway seems to be the case. It has been established that the inadequacy of hotel accommodation has an adverse effect on also fruition of qualitative and standard education in Nigeria, universities and polytechnics, that’s why we’ve taken it upon our characters to find out the setbacks and problems that has heralded to this problem of shy accommodation.

Purpose Of The Study

The problems associated with this subject matter includes that scholars in advanced institution are being deprived of their sociological and cerebral requirements as a result of poor hotel accommodation. Include the pupil can stay in a room impacts some cerebral pains on the scholars, as sequestration is to a large extent

Further more, the academic pursuit of the scholars has being hindered, the scholars now pay lower attention to studies. InI.M.T for case, that institution has two lot and some of the scholars who stay in lot two now have to risk their lives in transporting themselves to the other lot. Not only that, the scholars spend a lot of plutocrat in transportation and education and the under standing which the scholars are supposed to gain on the part of the academy it tone, some of the apartments which were made to accommodate scholars are being used as services for the stay in the institutes. Some of the apartments are vacancy and this being wasted because of poor operation all this negatively affects the pupil academic pursuit.

Statement Of Problem

This study will be concerned with the problems posed by poor hotel accommodation, as it affects the quality of education in advanced institute with particular reference to the institute of operation and technology,( IMT) Enugu and these are as follows

The scholars warrant attention on studies as a result of privation of sequestration. scholars pay lower attention to studies and spend important of their time trying to make plutocrat, as the plutocrat they have, have been spent on transportation.

Cultism is about to take our the academic conditioning that are supposed be going on in the academy, as utmost of scholars who stay off lot now mix with undesirable rudiments and they get involved in loose practices

The binary lot system makes the scholars to be worn out before reaching their lecture halls. executive lapse has hindered the perpetration of programs that could enhance the quality of life of the scholars in the caravansaries .

The fact that piecemeal from the hotel freights, pupil who stay in the caravansaries spend a lot of plutocrat on feeding and accession of other recreational installations.

Pupil says they buy officers before apartments could be allocated to them. Why academy authorities fail to give accommodation for scholars eg in ESUT for case, their is no accommodation for scholars, lest alone saying that it’s shy.

The last but not least is for us to find out what the operation is doing about the in suffivier apartments of accommodation in IMT for case as some of the apartments that were meant to accommodation scholars are now being used as services.

Ideal Of Study

By and large, accommodation, irrespective of it s nature or shape lost insure reasonable comfort and relaxation. To insure therefore, it mustn’t be in able of furnishing acceptable apartments of accommodation and certain introductory recreation installations similar as pipe borne water, library centers,etc. but unfortunately, utmost, if not all the advanced institution of literacy in Nigeria are devoid of some of these introductory installations and structure.

The academy, having been more advance and nationally known, created more apartments for the creation of further departments, which paved way for admission of pupil and reclamation of further particular.

Significance Of The Study

The design will be of immense significance to the strident and authorities of tertiary institutions, especially imt as it would not only help them trace the cause and effect of accommoda5tion problem but also suggest how stylish to attack them.
