Construction Of A Vertical Fire Tube Boiler
ABSTRACT
The construction of this perpendicular fire tube boiler was carried out both at the artificial center and Mechanical Engineering factory of the Institute of Management and Technology( IMT), Enugu.
The boiler contains 2 brume tubes at triangular pitch which are enclosed in a shell. Water is introduced through the shell. When the burner is put on, the products of combustion – redundant oxygen, nitrogen and carbondioxide pass through the tubes at a high temperature and also heats the girding water, as a result, brume is generated.
It has a capacity of 20,000 cm3 of water and can produce0.05 kg of brume per hour. It can be used extensively for the generation of stem for laboratory uses and by small scale diligence.
The accoutrements used were substantially mild sword. About 10 electrodes were used for the welding and care was taken to insure strong welding, although it’s a low pressure boiler. The top distance plato is0.0125 cm thick. The tube packets are galvanized tubes. Details of the engineering and working delineations are shown. The construction of this boiler didn’t follow any law.

The term “ boiler ” applies to a device for generating Steam for power, processing or heating purposes; Hot water for hotting purposes or hot water force. Boilers are designed to transmit heat from an external combustion source( generally full combustion) to a fluid contained within the boiler itself.
Boilers can be astronomically grouped into lower pressure type and high pressure boiler. The constructed perpendicular fire tube boiler is a low pressure boiler. The boiler is constructed so as to induce brume for chemical engineering processes, hotting drying, altering, etc.
Holes at triangular pitch were drilled at the bottom and top distance plates of the boiler. Brume tubes were passed through these holes and also welded explosively. Other holes were drilled only on the top plate, so that brume will pass through them. This was pushed in to a shell and welded together. A mild sword plate was used to help the products of combustion passing from the brume tubes to come into contact with the generated brume. A mound was handed for the stovepipe feasts to escape.
