Agricultural Policies And Economic Growth In Nigeria

 

Abstract

 

This study assesses the impact of agrarian programs and development on profitable growth in Nigeria. The data used in this study was collected from secondary data which covers about 33 times. Unit root, ordinary least square andco-integration estimating fashion of data analysis was used in assessing the secondary data. GDP was used as a deputy to profitable growth, while interest rate, and governmentre-current and capital expenditure on husbandry were used as pointers of agrarian programs. From the findings;Re-current expenditure on husbandry and GDP are appreciatively related, government capital expenditure on husbandry and interest rate and GDP was negatively affiliated. It was set up that a negative relationship live between agrarian programs and the profitable growth in Nigeria. The findings also revealed that the sector still encounter some problems like poor expression and perpetration of programs. thus, the study recommends that it’s imperative for the country to develop its agrarian sector through sufficient government spending in order to set- up its profitable growth. It emphasizes the need to enlighten growers, ameliorate and give architectures, accord a precedence to the sector in budget allocation, ensky acceptable and applicable extension services, among other measures laid by the government.
