Abstract

The construction assiduity by its nature is manly dominated and the low position of participation of women within it has attracted a lot of attention encyclopedically. In recent times, the assiduity recorded a slight increase in women participation but this is still inadequate to meet the challenges faced by the Assiduity on a diurnal base. This exploration thus investigates the positive career aspect of the many professional women who have made it to the top of their careers within the Nigerian construction assiduity by exploring their career gests and prospects, examining the challenges to their participation and their notable and career satisfying moments along their career path. A biographical interview was conducted with forty- five( 45) womanish professionals whose work cuts across all the sectors of the assiduity. The data collected were analysed using thematic analysis system by grouping the results and organising them according to their opinions on issues bandied. The findings show that their gests aren’t peculiar to them because they’re women, but general to both relations which demystifies the joker only image of the assiduity. It exposed the rare moments, job satisfaction, and excellent achievements which overshadows the challenges faced by the women. The women canvassed were set up to have dealt with the challenges in a way that allowed them to balance both work and family commitments, and to them success isn’t only measured by work achievements alone, but also by achieving success at the family end. The study also set up that lack of plutocrat stands as a major hedge alongside other challenges which are geographically grounded and are surmountable. The exploration recommends that the dispersion of information geared towards the improvement of the image of the assiduity as it relates to women is necessary especially one grounded specifically on the openings available and the successes attainable within. It also developed guidelines for enhancing women’s career within the Nigerian construction assiduity.
