Preface

 

Background of the study

 

Education constitutes the veritably foundation of meaningful socioeconomic, political, and profitable growth and development of any nation. Since the perpetration of the public policy on education in 1981, there have been a lot of inventions and reforms in the education system. Unfortunately, education in Nigeria, despite these reforms and the nonstop huge investment by colorful administrations, has not sufficiently lifted the nation from the morass of technological under- development, political insecurity and social degeneration. It can be argued that utmost of these reforms and inventions are inadequately enforced due to unsustainable backing.

 

The backing of education is at the heart of the educational extremity in numerous countries around the world. In Nigeria, there appears to be a imperishable extremity of backing and a lack of definite structures and strategies for funding education. The Universal and Compulsory Primary Education( UPE) was introduced in 1976, without acceptable medication in terms of the number of classrooms needed, the number of good preceptors available, and the extent to which available coffers could last. further than thirty times after that action, the educational sector at all situations is still characterized by poor performance. One of the major explanations for this is the extremity of backing, definite structures and strategies for addressing the problem. This The incarnation of poor backing of Nigeria’s education from the medial 1970s into the 2000s caused wide cases of arrears of overdue preceptors’ hires, academy structure, and outfit that were missing, dilapidated, or grossly shy. This makes the effective operation of the education system a Herculean task, and when the situation becomes intolerable, either the preceptors or the scholars, or both, rebellion, leading to demonstrations, strike conduct, frequent and frequently dragged check of the institutions, and damage to educational quality. thus, for effective public development, there’s a need for voluntary backing of education for sustainable development in Nigeria. The development of similar options for backing would give applicable data and substantiation for some policy opinions on our educational enterprise, which will lead to sustainable public development.

 

Statement of the problem

 

The hunt for education by the millions can hardly be exaggerated. In order to satisfy the inextinguishable appetite for education, which is seen by the crowd not only as the switch for social mobility but also as a guarantee for a comfortable living. Unfortunately, the quality and standard of education in Nigeria is poor because it has not been paid acceptable attention to. The increase in seminaries ’ registration has put pressure on academy installations. Classes were shy, and the schoolteacher- pupil rate was uncomfortably high, especially in utmost civic seminaries, where the being installations were in veritably bad shape and nearly livable for scholars. The state of academy installations impelled the government to embark on massive recuperation of academy structure and the employment of further tutoring labor force. The strain on the state’s finances is putatively clear and visible. still, on the part of the government, the responsibility of backing education has been met with emphatic challenges ranging from styles of outlaying finances in our educational system, loose practices by stakeholders, lack of force, poor operation and responsibility coupled with the fact that the coffers within the limits of society in terms of finances to meet this ever- adding demand are grossly shy and frequently times not available. Hence, it makes it challenging for the government to completely finance education. The challenges of Nigeria’s education sector in general and its backing in particular could be traced to policy and strategy insecurity and inconsistency, hamstrung operation, extinctions and leakages caused by booting macroeconomic conditions that have determined the fate of the sector. Hence, it came the compelling factor that motivated this study.

 

Ideal Of The Study

 

The main focus of the study is to examine the challenges encountered by the government in educational backing. Specifically the study seek

 

1. To examine the causes of cause of unsustainable backing for education in Kwara state.

 

2. To probe the challenges that permeates lack of educational backing in Kwara State

 

3. To determine if lack of backing will affect the quality of education in Kwara State.

 

4. To proffer results to the linked challenges.

 

Exploration Hypotheses

 

HO1 Lack of Backing doesn’t have any effect the quality of education in Kwara State.

 

H1 Lack of Backing has a significant effect on the quality of education in Kwara State.

 

HO2 There are no significant challenges affecting education backing in Kwara State.

 

H1 There are significant challenges affecting education backing in Kwara State.

 

Significance of the study

 

Findings from this study will be helpful to government, stakeholders and other exploration. To government, the study will enable them to understand ways they can handle education backing challenges and enlighten them on the need to fete introductory education( that is primary and secondary education) as public good and accepts the responsibility of furnishing education free for all citizen. Moreso the study will add to the body of being literature and serve as reference material for pupil and other academia in affiliated field of study.

 

Compass Of The Study

 

The compass of this study borders on the challenges encountered by the government in educational backing. The study is still demarcated Kwara state.

 

Limitation of the study

 

The following factors poses to be a limitation during the course of this exploration

 

fiscal constrant – inadequate fund tends to stymie the effectiveness of the experimenter in sourcing for the applicable accoutrements , literature or information and in the process of data collection( internet, questionnaire and interview).

Time constraint – The experimenter will contemporaneously engage in this study with other academic work. This accordingly will cut down on the time devoted for the exploration work.

 

Replier station The maturity of repliers failed to collect the questionnaires, and those who do collect them pay close attention to filling out and returning them, while others don’t return theirs at all. Others were lower accommodating and may have handed untrustworthy information because they were hysterical of being exposed, despite the experimenter’s pledge that all information would be treated with the utmost secretiveness and only for education purposes.

 

Description Of Terms

 

Education Education is the process of easing literacy, or the accession of knowledge, chops, values, morals, beliefs, and habits.

 

Financing Education Financing education means funding education, it involves sourcing and furnishing finances to run academy programmes and icing the optimal distribution and application of the finances to achieve educational pretensions.
