Chapter One

Preface

Preface

A contract is a written or oral fairly- binding agreement between the parties linked in the agreement to fulfill the terms and conditions outlined in the agreement. A prerequisite demand for the enforcement of a contract, amongst other effects, is the condition that the parties to the contract accept the terms of the claimed contract. Historically, this was most generally achieved through hand or performance, but in numerous authorities – especially with the advance of electronic commerce – the forms of acceptance have expanded to include colorful forms of electronic hand. Contracts can be of numerous types,e.g. deals contracts( including plats), copping contracts, cooperation agreements, trade agreements, and intellectual property agreements.

A deals contract is a contract between a company( the dealer) and a client where the company agrees to vend products and/ or services and the client in return is obliged to pay for the product/ services bought.

A purchasing contract is a contract between a company( the buyer) and a supplier who’s promising to vend products and/ or services within agreed terms and conditions. The company( buyer) in return is obliged to admit the goods or service and pay for liability created.

A cooperation agreement may be a contract which formally establishes the terms of a cooperation between two legal realities similar that they regard each other as ‘ mates ’ in a marketable arrangement. still, similar expressions may also be simply a means to reflect the desire of the constricting parties to act ‘ as if ’ both are in a cooperation with common pretensions. thus, it might not be the common law arrangement of a cooperation which by description creates fiduciary duties and which also has ‘ common and several ’ arrears.

Background of the Study

When an institution or association needs to manage a large quantum of data, a database is a good way to store and recoup the data. A database in this environment refers to any collection of affiliated data used by your operation. Some typical exemplifications of information that may be stored in a database include Student information, Hand information, Patent records, Deals, force, Product data, sale records, etc. We could use individual lines to store this information, but a large number of lines becomes too important as the scale of the database increases. A database operation system is the entire software package that’s used to develop, apply, manage, and maintain the database( s). Common exemplifications of databases include MySQL( free), Microsoft SQL Garçon, Oracle, and Microsoft Access. In a database, data is stored in tables made up of one or further columns( Access calls a column a field). The data stored in each column must be of a single data type similar as Character, Number or Date. A collection of values from each column of a table is called a record or a row in the table while a field represents the unit of a given record or an trait of every reality in the database.

A database system for contract allocation facilitates the easy recording of contract records, similar that it’ll be easier to get details of contracts awarded or get reports of any registered contract when demanded.

Statement of Problem

The homemade way of recording contract information on paper lines or office flat lines is associated with numerous risks. It makes it delicate to fluently record and modernize contract information, searching for specific information pertaining contracts awarded is veritably delicate with the homemade system. It’s in view of these risks that necessitates a database operation system for contract allocation.

Objects of the Study

The following are the objects of the study;

To develop a database system that can be used to register awarded contracts

To develop a system that will prop the easy reclamation of contract information

To develop a system that will grease the easy updating of contract information.

Significance of the Study

The significance of the study is that it’ll give a accessible way of managing contract allocation. This will help the ministry to keep record of contracts with ease and update contract information with ease. The study will also serve as a useful reference material to other experimenters seeking for information related to the exploration study.

Compass of the Study

This study covers database operation information system on contract allocation and it’s limited to ministry of workshop, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom state.

Organization of the Research

This exploration work is organized into five chapters. Chapter one is concerned with the preface of the exploration study and it presents the overtures, theoretical background, statement of the problem, end and objects of the study, significance of the study, compass of the study, association of the exploration and description of terms.

Chapter two focuses on the literature review, the benefactions of other scholars on the subject matter is bandied.

Chapter three is concerned with the system analysis and design. It analyzes the present system to identify the problems and provides information on the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed system. The system design is also presented in this chapter.

Chapter four presents the system perpetration and attestation. The choice of programming language, analysis of modules, choice of programming language and system conditions for perpetration.

Chapter five focuses on the summary, conclusion and recommendations are handed in this chapter grounded on the study carried out.
