DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF 100WATT AUDIO POWER AMPLIFIER

ABSTRACT

This thesis guides the design and construction of a 100w audio power amplifier with the goal of producing a reliable and less expensive amplifier that can be used in a home or on stage. Electrical/electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, transformers, and transistors were used to build the audio power amplifier. Many tools/instruments, such as a soldering iron and a multi-meter, were used. When compared to other types of audio power amplifiers of the same rating on the market, the 100w audio power amplifier is less expensive because the components and materials used are locally sourced and selected to suit the desired purpose and environment.

CHAPTER ONE

1.1   INTRODUCTION

This is an exceptionally well-designed amplifier with plenty of power. It has a high sensitivity, a low power consumption, and complete protection. With all of these ideal characteristics, this amplifier is likely to become the fundamental building block of a future high-fidelity system, or it may serve as a component that helps improve or upgrade an existing system.

The group faces a significant challenge in building a 100watt audio amplifier. In fact, an audio amplifier is one of the most important electronic devices that we use every day. i.e. in our day-to-day activities, whether domestic or commercial. It should be capable of delivering high performance of up to 40 watts.

Continuous average power to an 8-load with 0.1% THD+N from 20Hz and a signal-to-noise ratio of more than 95 bB(min) with a typical low noise floor of 2.0uv.

This project’s research has been meticulously organized for easy comprehension by anyone who may be interested in reading the report.
