Design And Implementation Of An On Line Multi Media-based Electronic-learning System For Post Primary Educational Institutes

Abstract

In order to insure effective literacy, there must be a need to automate the system thereby transubstantiating the normal tutoring system into a computer supported literacy system. This work concentrated on the perpetration of a multimedia groundede-learning system. The current literacy terrain which consists ofnon-information technology bias, is uncomfortable for scholars especially with verbal blights, also is prone to external noise hindrance which leads to distraction of both scholars and preceptors. The result of this work is the design of an online multimedia eLearning system that will enable pupil to take over classroom literacy conditioning at their own pace. The methodology espoused in this design was in line with the Object acquainted analysis and design system( OOADM). Object- acquainted analysis and design system is the top assiduity- proven methodology for developing high- quality object- acquainted systems, which are systems that are composed of interacting objects. It’s a way of organizing software as a collection of separate objects that incorporate both data structure and geste . The development tool is Sublime Text 4. The language used is PHP for the garçon side development of the dynamic content, MySQL is used for the database design, HTML, CSS and JavaScript enabled the development of the static content of the web runners and the structure of forms as well and to ameliorate the customer side effect.

Background of Study

Due to the rapid-fire technological growth and changes that passed in recent times, electronic literacy and training installations are now gaining grounds, not simply probative to the traditional classroom system, but as an accepted system enforced by important institutions that offer global services. It’s discovered that people, especially Africans prefer watching and harkening to trainings than reading.( Tunner et al, 2008).

E-learning is the use of electronic media and Information and Communication Technologies( ICT) in education. Universities are forced to respond to the arising developments in Information and Communication Technology( ICT). The Internet is fast getting an everyday tool for life conditioning. The use of internet for tutoring and literacy is getting a normal extension. scholars also have high prospects about the use of ICT in their education. The shift in learner prospects, changing demographics of learners, and the rapid-fire development of subject knowledge forms challenges to universities.

E-learning is an inclusive term that describes educational technology that electronically or technologically supports literacy and tutoring. Bernard Luskin, a colonist ofe-learning, advocates that the “ e ” should be interpreted to mean “ instigative, energetic, enthusiastic, emotional, extended, excellent, and educational ” in addition to “ electronic. ” This broad interpretation focuses on new operations and developments, and also brings literacy and media psychology into consideration. Parks suggested that the “ e ” should relate to “ everything, everyone, engaging, easy ”.

E-learning encompasses multimedia literacy( MML), technology- enhanced literacy( TEL), computer- grounded training( CBT), computer- supported instruction( CAI), internet- grounded training( IBT), web- grounded training( WBT), online education, virtual education, virtual literacy surroundings( VLE) which are also called literacy platforms, m- literacy, digital educational collaboration, distributed literacy, computer- intermediated communication,cyber-learning, andmulti-modal instruction. Developments in internet and multimedia technologies are the introductory enabler ofe-learning, with consulting, content, technologies, services and support being linked as the five crucial sectors of thee-learning assiduity. E-learning substantially takes the form of online courses, where the dominant literacy technology employed moment is a type of system that organizes and delivers these courses. E-learning includes multitudinous types of media that deliver textbook, audio, images, vitality, and streaming videotape, and includes technology operations and processes similar as audio or videotape tape recording, satellite television, CD- ROM, and computer- grounded literacy, as well as original intranet/ extranet and web- grounded literacy. Information and communication systems, whether free- standing or grounded on either original networks or the Internet in networked literacy, bore numerouse-learning processes.
