ABSTRACT

In current society, the need for a low-cost electronic home security system that works in tandem with other security measures is constantly there in order to lessen the risk of house invasion. With this difficulty in mind, we’re working on a project for an automatic password-based control system that uses access control technologies. We wish to use electronic technology to create a cost-effective, integrated, and fully customizable home security system.

This is the design and building of an access control system that uses a microcontroller (at89s52) to lock or turn on and off a password-based design. For example, constructing a password system to turn on and off leds when the write password is input.

CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Traditional lock systems that use a mechanical lock and key mechanism are being phased out in favor of more modern locking mechanisms. These approaches combine mechanical and electronic equipment and are extremely sophisticated. The simplicity and high efficiency of these unique lock systems are two of its most obvious advantages.

An electronic control assembly controls the output load via a password in such an automatic lock system. A motor, a lamp, or any other mechanical or electrical load can be used as the output load.

An electronic lock (sometimes known as an electric lock) is a locking device that uses electricity to work. Electric locks with an electronic control assembly placed directly to the lock are sometimes used as stand-alone devices. An access control system can be linked to electric locks.

Many times, we forget to bring the key to our house with us. Alternatively, we may exit our home and the door latch closes by accident. It is extremely difficult to gain access to the residence under these situations. This initiative is intended to accomplish this goal. The main idea behind this project is to open a door using a password entered using a keypad. When the password is entered incorrectly many times, the Buzzer is activated. The user can change the password at any moment using a keypad.

Using an 8051 microcontroller, we create an electrical code lock system that controls the actuation of the load. It’s a straightforward embedded system that takes input from the keyboard and acts on it.

This system displays a password-based door lock system, in which the door is unlocked and the concerned individual is granted entrance to the secured area when the correct code or password is entered. If another individual arrives, it will once again prompt you to input the password. If the password is incorrect, the door will remain closed, denying the person access.

The 8051 controller is the circuit’s most important component. The password is entered using a 43 keypad in this project. The entered password is compared to a list of predetermined passwords. If the password is correct, the system rotates the door motor and displays the state of the door on the LCD. If the password is incorrect, the door will remain locked.

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM

Home security is one of the most important needs of the human race, and when it comes to security locks, electronic systems have introduced new ways of protecting lives and property through password authentication. This system is one of the most advanced electronic systems available, and it can be used in a variety of locking systems.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The goal of this project is to design and build a digital password-based locking system that can be used for door authentication and other locking applications.

The following are some of the goals:

a. To design and build a password-protected door locking system

c. To demonstrate how to design and implement a password-looking system.

c. To demonstrate the steps involved in designing and implementing a password-based system.

1.4 The project’s scope

A student will learn how a digital password system works, how to install it, and the various stages of designing and building a password locking door.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

It is critical to upgrade the security systems in our varied residences. Password systems are not only used for security purposes, but their mode of operation has also been used to car ignition lock joints and engine voltage supplied when it saves as a security system for car systems. Its significance includes:

a. As a quick way to boost security and intrusion protection

b. It saves a more effective way to secure homes and properties by utilizing the user personal identification system.

c. It can also assist advanced users in tracing treat finger tips if they are attempting to intrude without authentication number accuracy, for example.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY

A student will learn how a digital password system works, how to install it, and the various stages of designing and building a password locking door.

LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

a. If the recommended voltage is not supplied, the door will remain locked until the voltage level is met.

b. It has a weak authentication system that hackers can exploit.

c. Only one password can be used, and it must be known only by the users.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

Keypad: a numerical keypad with a human interface for entering passwords.

A programmable unit that controls the entire portion is known as a microcontroller.

Password: a set of security numbers or codes used for security authentication by just one person.
