ABSTRACT

The degree of comfortability and conduciveness of the school environment is one of the indicators of students’ academic achievement and self-esteem. The study looked at the impact of the school environment on secondary school students’ academic performance and self-esteem in the Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State. 180 secondary school students from four selected secondary schools in the study area were selected using the survey design in conjunction with the purposive selection approach and simple random sampling technique. The respondents were given a questionnaire to fill out as part of the data collection process. The information gathered was subjected to descriptive statistics and analysis of variance techniques.
