Micro Finance And Economic Empowerment Of Women

 

Abstract

 

This study examines the impact of microfinance on profitable, fiscal and social commission of women micro entrepreneurs in Ikeja, Lagos State. A sample of 50 women micro entrepreneurs were named in Ikeja some of which include dealers, haircutters, fashion contrivers, fish growers and exchange possessors. check system was employed to gain a picture of the population. Research data was collected using a 24 item questionnaire in order to measure the commission of women micro entrepreneurs and access to capital from microfinance banks. trustability and validity of the instrument was tested to insure the instrument has face and content validity. Data collected were anatomized using descriptive and deducible statistics. Research questions were tested using frequence counts and probabilities while the suppositions were tested using correlation measure, analysis of friction and retrogression analysis. The result of my analysis showed that; there are further women micro entrepreneurs between the periods of 18- 45, 68 of the repliers were married, half of the population engaged in trading, 24 were haircutters and fashion contrivers constituted 8. The finding shows that women micro entrepreneurs can be economically empowered and there’s an being perceptible position of profitable commission; 14 of repliers have bought lands, 4 were suitable to make houses, 68 are financing their children’s education. It was proved that loan installations, trainings and covering through microfinance can ameliorate women’s business capacity in colorful ways like buying further goods, buying in bulks, adding stocks and buying further work tools. There’s a positive relationship between the access to capital through Microfinance and the commission of women micro entrepreneurs, there’s a significant difference in access to capital grounded on business types. Age and connubial status of women combined gave 4 variation in profitable commission of repliers. Grounded on these findings we recommend that Women Micro entrepreneurs should embrace the services of microfinance and seek information about the product/ service that will help in empowering them and should use the coffers meetly. Microfinance banks should insure they increase their sweats strategies to reach all women micro entrepreneurs, develop packages suitable for each type of business and personality. further acceptable follow up and training/ monitoring should be handed for women micro entrepreneurs and microfinance should produce a warm and welcoming terrain in their services to win the women and also use friendly approaches.

 

principally,non-parametric statistical tests and analysis were called out. For clarity purpose results of data analysis were presented using statistical table probabilities, maps and ki- forecourt. Of the 100 questionnaire administered, 82 were recaptured properly completed. These were anatomized to evoke answers to the exploration questions. The questionnaires recaptured represented71.6 reclamation rate.
