Abstract

This study is on micro finance institutions origins problems and prospects. My main end of carrying out this exploration is to assess their once sweats in Nigeria and to see how the new scheme might prop in the setbacks encountered by the once institution. In the review of affiliated literature area, similar as their objects, their once performances were carried out completely. Also other programmes analogous to micro finance and models of findings in other countries were refocused out. Eventually, the policy drawn up by CBN for Micro finance institutions was bandied also. The exploration methodology employed was the terse system of secondary data collection, this approach concentrated on some named institutions in Nigeria as a whole. Collected data where anatomized and interpreted using bar maps, pie maps and tables. Grounded on the findings of this study, conclusions were drawn and recommendations given.
