PROPOSED POULTRY FEED MILL PROCESSING FACTORY

PROPOSED POULTRY FEED MILL PROCESSING FACTORY

ABSTRACT

The project calls for the construction of a plant capable of producing 2500 tons of poultry feed per year. Poultry feed is a balanced feed that promotes the growth of chicks and pullets. Unemployed residents of the proposed area were given the opportunity to work at the poultry feed mill processing factory. Local production meets the state’s requirement for poultry feed. Maize, rice polish, rice bran, groundnut cake, soya beans, fish meal, vitamin, and salt are the primary raw materials required. Except for the vitamin, all of the raw materials are locally available. The project will establish a backward link with the agricultural and agro-processing sectors as well as a forward link with the poultry sector, as well as generate revenue for the government. tax revenue and pay-roll tax. This allows the expanding poultry industry to capitalize on the region’s and state’s economic development.

CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION

1.0       BACKGROUND OF STUDY

The proposed poultry feed mill processing factory will be located in Nasarawa State’s autabalefi local government area, in the Karu local government area.

This project will increase the use of locally available indigenous raw materials in Nasarawa state and its environment, thereby improving farmer productivity, creating jobs, and generating revenue for local communities. Poultry feed mills are made up of a variety of ingredients such as maize, rice bran, grandmother cakes molasses, soya bean cake, fish meals, corn, and so on. Depending on the availability of various raw materials such as carbohydrate, protein, vitamins, and minerals, the composition of poultry feed can be varied.

Balanced feed is critical for the proper growth of divides and pullets, and can thus be used to feed other domesticated birds such as chickens.

chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, and so on, all of which increase broiler/egg output. The majority of poultry feed is grain; a portion of commercial feed, typically a quarter, is known as bulk and is indigestible. Bulk density refers to the amount of bulk.

The amount of feed and its nutritional requirements are determined by the weight and age of the poultry, as well as the season. A sufficient amount of protein and carbon-hydrate, as well as the necessary vitamins, dietary minerals, and water, were required for healthy poultry. Certain diets also required the inclusion of grit, or tiny rocks, as part of the granite processing process in the feed. By grinding ford as it passes through the gizzard, grit aids digestion. Grit

If commercial feed is used, it is not necessary. Poultry feed must be kept clean and dry; contaminated feed can infect the birds. Damp feed encourages fungal growth disease, which can be avoided with proper feed and feeder maintenance. In industrial agriculture, poultry feed can be supplemented with food found through foraging. For commercial poultry farming, machinery is used to automate the feeding process, lowering costs and increasing farm scale. Feed is the most expensive aspect of agriculture. Given the population’s nutritional needs, the development of poultry farms is receiving increased attention.

This project aims to provide development employment opportunities to the state and city as a whole.

1.1 MOTIVATION

Because of the increased population of poultry farms in Nasarawa state and its environs, this encourages the introduction of poultry factories to the indigenous of the area, providing opportunities to farmers in either to ease their demands from other poultry industries, at which Nasarawa state, as an agricultural state, has sustainable raw material that can serve purpose for the production of the feed mil processing.

1.2 AIM AND OBJECTIVE

The project’s goal is to design a functionally standard and efficient poultry feed manufacturing facility that will ensure optimal product delivery with minimal flow conflict.

OBJECTIVE

To ensure that the factory’s functional layout is effective.
Ensure that the production process runs smoothly from raw material delivery to finished product storage.
Adopted a design concept that is adaptable for future growth.

1.3 PROJECT SCOPE AND LIMITATION

With the increased demand for poultry farm products for domestic consumption as well as expert, the farmer realized the importance of maintaining quality poultry through proper feeding and management. Over the balanced concentrated feed, the proportion of crossbred birds increases.

The farmer’s product manufacturing process will be based on different qualities and forms (mash/pellets/crumble). The proposed design for a poultry feed mill processing factory is divided into three major sections.

Unit of production
Administrative and medical divisions
The following are members of the Auxiliary Unit:
Laboratory \sStores
Locker room
Toilet or convenience?
Control room for the loading bay

1.4 JUSTIFICATION

The project is to conduct a fact finding of a poultry feed mill factory in order to invest in a very new source for the benefit of poultry farmers, given the state’s low level of feed production manufacturing, which necessitates thriving a successful and modern poultry feed mill industry using locally available raw materials. This will justify the need to encourage farmers to produce more raw materials in order to improve the economic development of the area, the state, and the country.

1.5 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Professional and resource person conducts a literature review of architectural texts, agricultural texts, and academic written material.
Data collection for technological and scientific purposes.
Interviews with people who are knowledgeable about the poultry feed mill industry.
