The Level Of Information Overload And Anxiety Among Undergraduates

 

Abstract

 

This study looks at the position of information load and information Anxiety among undergraduates of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. The study sought to find out the major causes of information load and anxiety and possible strategies to control them. The exploration was guided by four exploration questions and descriptive check was used as the exploration design. Also, arbitrary slice fashion was used to elect 200 scholars as the sample size from four faculties. Simple mean system was used for data analysis. The study revealed that the position of information load among undergraduates when studying for examinations, entering lectures, doing a exploration design or an assignment is high. Also that the position of information anxiety among undergraduates in prioritizing tasks, effectively managing information and entering information from different sources were also high, still they’ve low anxiety when making decision grounded on the attained information and penetrating demanded information. The study further revealed that the major causes of information load and anxiety are lack of information knowledge chops, kind of tasks and liabilities of the druggies, internet and emails, nature and formats of information. And that the possible strategy to managing information anxiety and load among undergraduates were to acquire information knowledge chops, use satisficing model of decision timber, employ information pruning strategy, planning and prioritizing tasks before information hunt and effective time operation.
