The issue of indiscipline is one of the social problems among the Nigerian you, the whether in post secondary academy, advanced literacy. The goods of indiscipline are manifested in all workshop of life including the smooth handling of seminaries.

In any cultivated society, the fostering of discipline is a necessary condition on the conservation of law and order. It’s apre-requisite for the creation of political, social and profitable development of a society or nation achieves is to a large extent a function by its colorful organs and what they’re suitable to inculcate on the youth is veritably essential in order to insure fidelity of the citizens and to the social and profitable development of the country. The public policy of education( 1981) stated the purpose of education as follows

“ To produce a good society where all its members can use their disposal to develop all the natural coffers within the terrain in pursuit of the tone thing and ideal? There are been a considerable exhibition of indiscipline in academy of which a lot of bad geste similar as smoking, drunkenness, stealing, laying. Bribery, corruption and medicine dependence flourished. The family as agent of socialization could have significant impact on the child. This is apparent from the fact that’s the first place, which the child learns about the terrain and the world at large. Parents inculcate in the child their acquired behavioural patterns. The academy as agent of socialization and training is responsible for putrefying our unborn leader and perfecting force demanded in our society. Indiscipline rears its unattractive head through the form of lack of original commitment and fidelity to work, belatedness to work. Absenteeism, neglect of duty and parents who feels lower concern about their children by going out to work veritably beforehand and coming late when the children are formerly asleep. All these have a way of braking progress of work and also limit out effectiveness and effectiveness.

The academy as an association should be suitable to delivers philanthropic services, which is geared towards the betterment to the government and the society. similar as the capability to inculcate moral, promptitude, chronicity, honesty and fidelity of work. This means the academy should be suitable to produce chastened Pupils who’ll latterly come good citizens are free from any indiscipline act be it medicine dependence , gambling, truancy academy or other vices. Indiscipline, which serves as a major source of some social vices in Nigeria is of great concern to the parents, government and preceptors similar vices include stealing, fund selecting, medicine abuse among youth also constitute nuisance to the government and society.

Statement Of Problem

This study is concerned with the disquisition of the causes of indiscipline among scholars in secondary seminaries and how it affects the academic performance of the child; the peril of indiscipline in academy as well as its influence on the child can not be over emphasized. The academy terrain, preceptors, parents, society, peer groups have their individual and collaborative part.

In order to understand this study, the following problems areas need to be delved .

1. That indiscipline affects the academic performance of the scholars.

2. That indiscipline contributes to the poor performance of the child

3. That indiscipline can be attributed to parents ’ incapability to meet the child needs.

Purpose Of The Study

This study set out to achieve the following points.

1. To probe whether parents are in a way, either deliberately or intentionally in academy.

2. To determine whether the nature of the academy administration has told the indiscipline displayed by the scholars.

3. To probe whether the socio profitable factor in Oredo Area of Edo State has any told on indiscipline among secondary academy scholars.

Exploration Questions

The following shall from the introductory exploration questions.

1. Is there any different between indiscipline and the academic performance of scholars in seminaries.

2. Does socio- profitable background of parents encourage pupil’s indiscipline in academy?

3. Does the nature of academy administration encourage indiscipline among scholars in the academy?

4. Do too numerous rules and regulations encourage indiscipline in academy?

Significance Of The Study

This study is significant because it reveals the degree of indiscipline among scholars in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. The observation so made help in arresting the problem. It’s also significant and important to the development of children substantially in this our complex society where medicine dependence , gambling, stealing, bribery and corruption not to mention but a many has come the order of the day. Some parents on the other hand have contributed to the major causes of indiscipline moment in our society. Take for illustration a parent who has a child or children in academy and refuse to bear for their requirements or help them in their academic is laterally telling the child to look for result away which may lead this child or children going of their peers or musketeers outdoors.

Compass Of The Study

This study has been limited to five secondary seminaries out of the entire ninety- six secondary seminaries in Oredo Local Government Area in Edo State. they include;

1. Ogbe Secondary academy;

2. Imaguero Secondary academy;

3. Akenzuwa Secondary academy;

4. Iyogbe Secondary academy; and

5. Oredo Secondary academy. all in Oredo Local Government Area in Edo State.

Description Of Terms

The following description is important for the successful completion of this design.

Truancy – Act or habit of staying down from academy without authorization.

School administration – Is a formularized syustem which plans and co-ordinate organs of academy( stating reporting and assessing of all matter of the entire academy affairs).
