TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES

 

ABSTRACT

 

This project provides a summary of the full research study, which was meant to determine the way forward in the treatment and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases in Egor Local Government Area, Edo State. This study included respondents from secondary schools, tertiary institutions, civil servants, and traders. The topics covered in this study included the mode of transmission, factors that predispose youths to STDs, symptoms, treatment, diagnosis, prognosis, and preventive measures for sexually transmitted diseases.

 

The following questions were used as the research instrument: A total of 343 questionnaires were distributed to respondents; data analysis from the questionnaire review revealed that abstinence from sex and faithfulness to one partner is the best prevention from STD; various recommendations were made, including the incorporation of sex, faithfulness to one partner, abstinence, and parental guidance for youths.
