AVAILABILITY OF QUALIFIED TEACHER IN EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION IN JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL

Abstract

By focusing on schools in the Enugu zone of Enugu state, this study aims to assess the availability of trained teachers for efficient teaching and learning of physics in our junior secondary schools. As our theoretical framework, we used the pragmatic theory, which is a philosophical example of innovation based on policy orientation and abstract world view, pure ideas as the yardstick (tool) for assessment, teaching, and learning of physics. Primary sources are how we gather data, and they enable us to compile the data into a quantifiable manner.
The scarcity of skilled geography teachers in the Enugu zone and the underwhelming academic performance of students were two of the hypotheses that were put to the test. The research advises the ministry of education to stand up and grab the problem by the horns in order to stop it in its tracks. While plans are being made for instructors and students to be rewarded for their contributions to increased performance output and productivity, non-dedicated and ineffective teachers should be shown the door.
