LABOUR CONTROL IN BUILDING INDUSTRY

Abstract

The Labor Management in the Construction Industry research project deals with issues relevant to the construction industry in Lagos during working hours such as: B. Minimize redundancies, interactions and fights with each other in construction, thus wasting a lot of man hours, and how the project works by supervising and motivating the workers until the project is completed. to see how it progresses. This discussion emphasizes work schedules, or programming of work per hour. It should be noted that the scope of work management is limited. The primary purpose of work management procedures is to identify deviations from the project plan. This characteristic reflects an advanced stage where project management becomes important. Time spent on project planning and work scheduling. During actual construction, workers can delay the project, which can lead to lost costs. As a result, labor management is focused on working during working hours and fulfilling issues related to work schedules and work programs.

Foreword

1.1 Research background

Labor management in construction is one of several procurement options used in the project execution process. Records show that this is the oldest procurement system and has been in use in Nigeria since colonial times. It is of great importance in most countries, researchers have found that developers use the project delivery process, design, planning, resource procurement, and supervisors to plan and organize the construction of the project, and the customer describes it as the system that runs the workforce it employs. This type of system is considered in-house because the customer’s employees perform the project delivery processes and activities differently than the contractor’s employees. Labor management is a good development in construction as it does not lead to high manpower and overhead in the Nigerian construction industry.

The term Procurement System refers to the process of project execution and handover and represents the responsibilities and contractual obligations of the parties performing the numerous activities related to handover to the owner. According to Ojo (2009), procurement involves various combinations of design and construction phases to achieve an organizational form for project execution. Maizon (2003) states that choosing a procurement method for a particular project is a difficult task for clients due to the many factors driving construction projects. He further added that different clients have different needs and requirements and construction projects are so large and so diverse in all respects that no single procurement method is suitable for all projects. I explained no. Construction projects are very important. Especially in developed countries, projects are given higher priority as they are part of the determinant of knowing the level of development of a country. It develops through stages of conception, design and actual construction. Potential owners begin the conceptual process by providing an expert briefing on their needs and requirements. During the design phase, the expert in charge translates the basic concept into her three spatial representations, meeting the owner’s needs in an optional and economical way. During the construction phase, conception and design are carried out to fulfill orders.

1.2 Problem Description

Methods provide a framework for project implementation and development. Time and serious attention is put into setting up the right procurement system for your specific project. The methods used to construct a particular project are expected to achieve the project objectives in terms of cost, time and quality, but they do not.

Time and cost overruns are major problems facing the construction industry in Nigeria and all attempts made so far have failed to produce the expected results. Many studies have pointed out problems such as time and cost overruns and poor delivery quality as a result of labor management in construction work that requires a lot of man-hours.

Labor management and other methods used in the Nigerian construction industry have raised serious concerns for project stakeholders and the construction industry at large. The purpose of this study is to investigate labor management in the construction industry in Lagos State and its surroundings.

1.3 Objectives and objectives of the survey

The purpose of this project is to study labor management in construction and its impact on the project implementation process.

The objectives of this research include:

1) Clarify the factors that affect labor management in the construction industry.

2) Minimize waste in the Nigerian construction industry through effective management.

3) Make recommendations on how to properly manage and deploy the on-site workforce based on project results. 4) Encourage the use of skilled labor for supervision and general site planning and management.
