DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ONLINE SHOPPING CART SYSTEM FOR AN ONLINE STORE

Chapter one

introduction

Trading goods or services using computer networks, such the Internet, is known as e-commerce (Wikipedia, 2015). Mobile commerce, electronic funds transfers, supply chain management, Internet marketing, online transaction processing, electronic data exchange (EDI), inventory management systems, and automated data gathering systems are just a few of the technologies that are used in electronic commerce. Although it may also employ other technologies like e-mail, modern electronic commerce often leverages the World Wide Web for at least one phase of the transaction’s life cycle. Regardless of the sort of business, everybody who wants to go online requires e-commerce software that is tailored to their particular demands and specifications. E-commerce has become increasingly popular over the past several years among businesses operating in many cities and nations. where goods and services are available. Where products and services can be delivered via their website and delivery is carried out utilizing many modes of transportation, such as ship, automobile, or post office. By taking a tiny Mobile outlet as a case study, this work aims to create an online shopping cart system that can supply goods and services on demand.

In order to understand the purpose of this research effort, research rationale explains why it is vital to conduct research on this issue. Chapter 1 also covers areas like scope and limitation of study, which define the limits of this task. The definition of words provides an overview of what each chapter covers.

Issue Specification

The goal of this study project was to find solutions to the problems associated with marketing and providing goods and services to clients all over the world.

wherein in order for a business transaction to be effectively completed, both parties must be present

Objective of the study

A mobile shop’s online shopping cart system will only be implemented as part of this project in light of the issues raised above:

Showcase products and services inside the store.

Automate all transactions efficiently without varying product incentives.

Utilize a secure database to store product information.

Research methodology

“Design and implementation of computerized shopping cart system for a GSM/Mobile business” is the title of this research project. The system will be constructed as a web-based application using a relational database system (MySQL). The web-user interface will be created using HTML (hypertext markup language), CSS (cascading style sheets), and Java Script. PHP (hypertext pre-processor) will be used as the server-side script language to connect the interface and the database, and Ajax technology will be used to automate the cart system.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF STUDY

The goal of this research project is to create a system that can manage sales by automating a cart system that maintains all transactional information before the user requests to end the sales service.

A billing system that displays the total sales and product at the conclusion of each transaction will also be included in the system’s architecture.

The system will just be concerned with the aforementioned functionalities rather than incorporating all the features of a full business activities system. If the environment (the network/system on which the system is installed) is corrupt, the system will not be liable for any data loss.
