Study On The Effect Of Managers Leadership Style On The Secretaries Productivity In Anammco

 

Abstract

This study was conducted to find out the study of the effect of directors leadership style on the clerk’s productivity. In order to do this the following exploration question were used.

Does leadership styles effect clerk’s productivity

Is the leadership style espoused by your office director contributing to the achievement of the associations pretensions and objects.

Does the office director consider the passions of his inferiors before taking his opinions?

Questionnaire were administered on a population of 100 staff of Mobil producing Nigeria unlimited. Qua Iboe Terminal, Eket. frequence counts and chance were used counts and chance were used in the analysis of data.

Grounded on the anatomized data, the following findings were made.

In conclusion it was recommended that popular leader should be given the occasion to supervise in associations and leaders should take the interest of their workers into consideration before espousing any style of leadership.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Many a times the success or failures of any business association determined by the directors, leadership styles. The productivity of any association can be enhanced by the leadership styles of the directors. The productivity of the clerk who’s an integral part of the entire association system is also affected by her/ his directors leadership style to the extent she’s affected because she or her work directly with the director.

A leader can be seen as one occupies the loftiest position in an association, impacting his inferiors to achieve group objects in a given situation. This is to say that the leadership style is vested on a leader. According to Nwosu( 199664) leadership is a directorial; capability to negotiate group pretensions by working with the clerk who’s occasionally appertained to as a mate to the master.

Effective leadership seeks to give directions to the sweats of ill workers in achieving the pretensions of the association. According to Akpaka( 1990228) thing as effective leadership association would be composed of awkward group of people lacking concinnity and direction. It’s effective leadership that entails how well the association tasks are carried out.

Leadership style represents the colorful approaches through which leadership pretensions and objects are fulfilled. Leadership style of the situation demands. The style must depend on the prevailing situation or circumstance. According to Nwosu( 199666), no director has aimed up of the styles of leadership simply. This means that the styles are manipulated by mangers to match with a completely situation at any point in time. The leadership style espoused by a director determines the relationship that exists between him and the clerk and position extend of provocation of the clerk announcement position of productivity. Bekwe( 198128) saw leadership style as a major factor in the provocation of an hand. A good leadership style earnings registers commitment to work and elicits good actions towards increased productivity. Again, a bad leadership style constitutes unwholesome working terrain and a poor relationship between the clerk and the director thereby performing in poor performance and low productivity.

This exploration is thus an attempt to unveil the effect of leadership style of directors on the clerk’s productivity in ANAMMCO. still, the relationship between the clerk and the director is similar that the clerk serves as his representative, a mate, memory and is a link between the director and public. She aids in fulfilling the part of the plans allocated to her or him and anticipated to willing cooperate in any way which will promote the success of the association.

 

Statement Of The Problem

The leadership style espoused by the director of ANAMMCO affects the productivity of his registers either negative or appreciatively. A clerk can be frustrated,de-motivated, or else by her/ his director’s leadership style.

Some directors leadership style tends to reduce the status of the clerk to a bare sedentary typist who carries out instructions without at least giving the occasion to suppose her views as respects matters that direct affected her as a worker. The problems in this exploration work is to find out the goods of the director’s leadership style on the registers productivity.

 

Purpose Of The Study

The purpose of this study is to examine the goods of the director’s leadership style on the productivity of the registers in ANAMMCO which among other effects include

To identify the leadership style espoused by the directors

ii. To find out the factors responsible for the type of leadership style espoused by directors.

iii. To determine whether association influences directors leadership style

iv. To proffer suggestions on the findings of the study.

 

Significance Of The Study

This exploration study would punctuate the colorful leadership styles of directors and its goods on the registers productivity and the responses of similar station by registers. It’s also hoped that this design will reveal the stylish leadership style to be espoused by the directors of ANAMMCO to enhance effective and effective productivity of the registers.

The academy( Institute of Management and Technology Enugu) will inversely benefits from this work because it’ll give it an idea of the stylish leadership style to be espoused and also serve as a reference accoutrements in the academy library.
