Divorce is a legal termination of a valid marriage. Divorce or marriage failure has different goods on the child. It’s on this major problem that this design is carried out on different seminaries in Odeda Local Government. Divorce or marriage failure is apparent in a case whereby only one mate is responsible for the parenting of child/ children produced in a connubial union. This result in dysfunctional development for the child/ children because the liabilities which are to be participated between two people is shouldered by one to be participated between the people is shouldered by one person and the places meant to be played by two is taken over by similar person, this involves the child’s parenting to be balanced.

Marriage failure else known as divorce is one of the major problems common in our contemporary Nigeria setting. The rate at which marriage are reported to have failure is so high that two out of six marriages are reported to have failure in recent times.( The Punch May 5 2004).

Purpose Of The Study

The purpose of the study is to probe the perception of preceptors on the effect of divorce on the academic performance of children in primary seminaries in Odeda original government area of Ogun State.

Specifically the study seek to examine

– effect of divorce on the academic performance of children

– others possible effect or divorces on pupils

– preceptors comprehensions on the effect of divorce on the academic performance of children.

In carrying out this study there’s need to work with some guidelines. These are the exploration questions as they give the direction at which the exploration will be aiming at thus it’s necessary to start so as to direct the study;

1. What are the possible causes of divorce?

4. What are other areas of life of children that disjoin affect?

Significance Of The Study
