DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ONLINE CAMPUS

1.2 THE PROBLEM’S STATEMENT

There are several routes via which opinions can be obtained; one significant channel is through the manual distribution of questionnaires to respondents. Other routes include interviews, observations, and e-mails.

This strategy is difficult to implement since it requires money, time, and effort (Sekaran, 1992; Hair et al., 2006). A preliminary study including 12 lecturers discovered that they are willing to apply any instrument that will help them administer Opinion Poll practice. There are many commercial web-based opinion management systems available today, but users must pay to use them as well as register. Opinion PollGizmo1, Opinion PollMonkey2, and QuestionPro3 are examples of opinion management solutions. When questioned, the instructors stated that they prefer not to utilize the commercial web-based opinion management system because they lack faith in the system. This means that the lecturers choose to use an internal tool to facilitate the administration process in their opinion practice. To address this issue, a web-based system will be created.

1.3 THE STUDY’S OBJECTIVES

The study’s main goal is to build and operate an online campus opinion poll system. The following are the paper’s specific objectives:

To create an easy, secure, and anonymous interface for students to voice their concerns about issues that are bothering them.

To create a safe method for campus opinion leaders/administrators to simply publish questions for students to respond to.
