INTRODUCTION IN GENERAL

E-commerce is the exchange of goods and services using computer networks such as the Internet (Wikipedia, 2015). Mobile commerce, electronic funds transfer, supply chain management, Internet marketing, online transaction processing, electronic data exchange (EDI), inventory management systems, and automated data gathering systems are all examples of electronic commerce technology. Modern electronic commerce often employs the World Wide Web for at least one stage of the transaction’s life cycle, however other technologies such as e-mail may also be used. INTRODUCTION

The first chapter introduces the research work and the problem definition of the research, and the research justification tells us why it is important to research on this topic; it also covers areas like scope and limitation of study, which entails the boundary of this work. The definition of words summarizes what each chapter includes.

Problem Identification

This study project was undertaken to address the various issues encountered in exhibiting and delivering goods and services to clients all over the world.Every business transaction requires an on-site presence in order to be completed successfully.

STUDY OBJECTIVE

Given the aforementioned issues, this project will create an online shopping cart system for a mobile shop that will solely:

Showcase products and services in the store.

Automate all sales without combining product prizes.

Product information should be stored in a secure database.

THE METHODOLOGY OF RESEARCH

The title of this study is “Design and implementation of a computerized shopping cart system for a GSM/Mobile shop.” The system will be a web-based application that uses a relational database system (MySQL). Html (hypertext markup language), CSS (cascading style sheet), and Java Script will be utilized to construct the web-user interface, php (hypertext pre-processor) will be used to connect the interface and the database, and Ajax technology will be used to automate the cart system.

STUDY SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

The goal of this research is to create a system capable of handling sales by automating a cart system that stores all sales details prior to when the user requests that the sales service be closed.

The system’s design will also include a billing system that will display the total sales and goods at the end of each transaction.

The system will not include all of the functions of a functional business activities system in its development, but will instead concentrate on the aforementioned functionalities. If the system’s environment (network/system placed on) is corrupt, the system will not be liable for any data loss.
