The continues abandoning of public systems at colorful situations of development each over the country is of great concern not only to the governments themselves but further to civil retainers who are too deficiently accommodated.

In this exploration work sweats have been made to identify, anatomized and bandy the introductory causes of abandonment civil capital development Authority( FCDA) systems.

Chapter one serves as an preface which outlines the background of the study, statement to the problems, points objects of the study, exploration questions, significance of the study, compass of and limitations of the study plus overview of the study of the civil capital home( FCT) Abuja.

Preface

Only little portion of government systems are executed by direct labour, while utmost of the development systems are awarded to condensation.

Public structures have been known to be abandoned in the cause of construction or left to dilapidate after being virtually completed.

Incidents of abandoned systems are rampant each over the countrye.g. from Enugu to ILorin, harborage Harcourt to Sokoto and Lagos to Maiduiguri. systems of high capital cost. similar as domestic structures, office structures and indeed road constructions.

LITERAL BACKGROUND OF THE FEDERAL CAPITAL TARRITORY VIZ – AVIZ FEDERAL CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY ABUJA( FCDA)

The civil capital home Abuja was created in 1976 by Decree No6 of that time which was established the civil capital development agency responsible for the design, construction and administration of the home.

The decree also vested power and control for all land in the home in the civil government of Nigeria. The home which is located at the centre of the country covers an areas of 8000sqkm.

It’s thus further than twice the land area of Lagos state( 93535sq. km) about two- thirds the size of Imo state( 13032sq. km).

The civil capital home itself is designed to cover an area of 256sq. Km or 3 of the total land area of the home and at full development the megacity is anticipated to have a total population of3.2 million.

In the FCT the duration of sun range from 6- 8 hours per day in the south and 8- 10 hours per day in the North from January to April/ may. There’s still a steep drop to a mean of about 4 hours per day in the month of July/ August largely due to increase in pall cover it starts again in the month of September.

Abuja, a virgin land with nearly no amenities of any kind ahead 1976 indeed where the colonist civil retainers would stay came a test case. thus Civil retainers had to stay in haphazard position hospices in Suleja for domestic accommodation and a espoused Niger State Housing Estate had to be used as the Head diggings of the FCDA.

The only road from Suleja to the Linther land of the home was a social narrow tarred road.

FCDA is a parastatals under the Ministry for the Federal Capital Territory( MFCT) responsible for the physical development f the home.

Under FCDA is the Development of Public Building and Engineering. The development of Public Building is in charges of designing and supervising f structures while the Engineering Development, takes charge of road, heads and Electrical Services and islands.

Statement Of Research Problems

It has been observed that inspite f the trouble put by government to brings to actualization the generality of its systems, public systems are still largely abandoned at different stages of construction.

What are the factors responsible for the abandonment of public systems?

This study is thus geared towards examining the factors that beget abandonment of public sector development especially FCDA systems.

The points of this design are to examine the causes and effect f abandoned Public Development systems in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.

The below end was drafted with the following objects in mind.

i) To establish and identify the cause of Abandoned public developmeent design in the Federal centrals Territory Abuja.

ii) To probe the effect of the abandoned public development systems on the livs of the citizens.

iii) To probe its goods also on the terrain.

iv) To suggest possible result to causes of abandonment of public development systems in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.

Overview Of The Study

The end of the design is to examine the causes and effect of abandoned public development design in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja. Some of the causes which include shy backing or Bankcrupcy, lack of payment, high interest rate, affectation, indecorous planning, political reasons, detention in payment, corruption, bureacracy and reverse of special accoutrements having its effect on lowering of living standard of the crowd and as well making the terrain look unattractive among other goods. The chapter two made a reviews of affiliated and applicable literature.

In the chapter three which is the methodology, both primary and secondary sources of data where used the chance system. In chapter four the data acquired were presented on tables were analysed consequently.
