DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPUTER AIDED TUTOR FOR TEACHING BASIC PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE

ABSTRACT

This study focuses on the design and development of a computer-assisted tutor for teaching/training pupils in the BASIC programming language in the absence of a certified professional or teacher. The inspiration for developing and implementing this project stems from the difficulties students have when learning programming owing to a lack of resources, particularly poor presentation. Students struggle to understand what they are taught and spend a lot of time looking for alternative sources of information to augment their class work. Students could use this software to study and comprehend the BASIC programming language at their own pace. The programming language used to create this system is Visual BASIC 6.0.
