Role Of Mass Media In Crusade Against Terrorism

 

Abstract

 

This study seeks to dissect the part of mass media in campaign against terrorism especially in Nigeria with the rebellion of Boko Haram, an Islamic terrorist group that has ago been a trouble to public security. The study came essential because of the atmosphere in which the Nigerian media set up itself as a watchdog caught in the midst of political and religious peak. The study used check system, while 100 clones of questionnaires were distributed of which 95 were recaptured. The study was divided into five chapters. Chapter one, begins with preface and background of the study. In chapter two affiliated literature on the content were reviewed. The exploration espoused the “ check ” system, which guided it to its logical selection of repliers who drawn using simple arbitrary slice among the staff of NTA channel 5 Ikeja. The collected data were analysed and interpretations in table using frequence and chance system. The exploration recommends that intelligencers should as a matter of public security not write or broadcast unguided utterances of security agents with respects to logistical plans to bed out culprits and terrorists from our cultivated society.
